Free DIY Projects - Wanna help us continue this free service?

Got any ideas for
survival equipment and projects that can be built at home? Just attach any pictures and or plans to an email and send them to us.  Once we receive them we will post them on this page as soon as possible for everyone to use and enjoy.  Please refer to the Project Guidelines below before submitting your ideas.

Project Guidelines: Homebuilt Projects that you are submitting need to be based at a skill level withing the reach of that majority of users of this service.  The idea is to keep construction as simple and cost effective as possible.  After all that's what it's all about, saving money and learning how to build stuff!

They should be constructed mainly with basic tools that can be found in most garages like;
  • Arc-welder
  • Electric drill
  • Hand drill
  • Angle grinder
  • Hand files
  • Hacksaw
  • Wood saw
  • etc
If you don't have any tools, ask a friend to lend them to you.

Plans and pics coming soon - Build a Petrol Powered Electric Generator from scrap sourced from your local junkyard at very minimal cost. This little beauty is capable of producing 12 volts and right up to 240 volts if you use a power Inverter. Very basic steel chassis with lawnmower wheels, an old 4 Stroke lawnmower engine and some basic car parts. Has a large storage battery that will power a range of emergency devices for many hours, something that every household should have in the event of an emergency.

Sure you could go out and buy your emergency survival equipment, but there's no fun or sense of achievement in that. Besides, why not save a buck or two where possible and have heaps of fun at the same time whilst learning something?
